ANS : Anyone over age of 16 can participate. For the Student Awards, entrants must currently be a student at a school or university in the UAE. Entrants cannot participate in both the main competition and the Student Awards.

The 2016 Competition offers bigger prizes than ever before!
We are delighted to announce the cash prizes for this year’s photography competition.
ANS : No. Entrants cannot participate with a photo that has won ADTYE or any other photography competition.
ANS : Yes, Entrants can participate with a photo in this instance as long as they still own the exclusive rights to that photo.
ANS : No. Entrants cannot participate with a photo that has been previously been used by or sold to another entity.
ANS : Yes. Entrants can participate with a photo that has been shared on social media as long as the Entrant still owns the exclusive rights to that photo.
ANS : Yes, Entrants have to write a description with their submission. Descriptions can be written in English or Arabic.
ANS : Individual photos cannot be deleted or replaced once uploaded, but Entrants do not have to upload all 4 entries at the same time.
ANS : No, but if a photo is shortlisted, Entrants will be asked to supply their photo in RAW format.

This is a photography competition, not a photoshop competition!
Normal balancing, toning and cropping is allowed but no other digital alterations or manipulations are permitted
ANS : There are no specific requirements but Entrants are advised to submit photos of a minimum size of 1800 x 2700 pixels and a high resolution, so that Judges can assess the sharpness and quality of the image – and to give the Entrant the best chance of success.

ANS : Yes. Once uploaded, Entrants can view their entries on their profile.
ANS : Yes. Any Entrants whose photos are shortlisted will be contacted.
ANS : First, a large panel of Screening Judges assesses all entries by applying a rating of 1-10 based on creativity, quality, impact, emotion and effectiveness in representing the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The best 500 photos (or less) are then sent to the Senior Judges for assessment. In this final stage, photos are more closely examined based on technical aspects including lighting, composition, focus, contrast and artistic approach. The Senior Judges then select up to 100 Photos as shortlisted and choose the 10 Winners (1st – 10th) for the main competition, and select up to 50 photos as shortlisted and the 3 Winners (1st – 3rd) for the Student Awards.
ANS : Yes. Judges do not know any details about the photographer when assessing entries
ANS : Shortlisted Entrants will be notified by email.
ANS : Entrants’ photos will not be used without further consent.
ANS : No. For winning and selected photos, Entrants will receive notification to confirm the ADTYE copyright of the photo in exchange for the prize value.
